I'm Awesome. Maybe? My Life is Fun. Defiantly

1. I'm Learning to Cook
Or at least follow recipes.  Which is all cooking really is as it would turn out.
I don't know what I've been so afraid of
Earlier this week I made:
-Parmesan Crusted Chicken
-Crush Hot Potatoes
-Roasted Ricotta Roma Tomatoes

It was awesome!
All the recipes I used came from The Pioneer Woman

2. The Work-Place Loves Acronyms.
No joke, there were 5 acronyms introduced at training this morning.
Mind you, training was at the crack of doom.  My mind was in acronym overload
Here are my Work-Place acronyms:
L.A.S.T.
(listen, apologize, solve, thank)
M.E.M.O.R.Y.
(meet&greet with a smile, ears - listen, _________, _____________, respond with "my pleasure", you are the key to a good guest experience)
see how well I was listening?  Also isn't it great this is "memory" and I don't remember.
haha I thought so
F.A.T.A.L. 5
(failure to meet&greet guests, appearance, talking with friends instead of guests, attitude, _______)
again, I was a very good listener this morning
R.A.M.
(random acts of memorymaking)
I don't even remember the last one

3. I Bake

I made the most delish cupcakes for Bible Study
(because who doesn't want to study God and eat cupcakes at the same time?!)

4. James and I had a Wonderful Date
He brought me beautiful flowers
We went to Chili's (mmm mmm good)
We were going to see the new Terminator movie, but it was sold out
SO we went to see Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Which I really enjoyed, it was kinda lame, but funny

5. My Sister and I go Adventuring
Yesterday, my little sister really wanted a piece of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.
So I said "great, I need to go to the mall anyways"
So off we went.  Sadly, when we left the mall to go to the Cheesecake Factory,
we turned the wrong way on Peachtree
(if you're not from GA, we just "turned the wrong way")
We went the wrong way for 15 minutes before realizing it
Then, there was no parking! We parked at the bank next door since we were only going to be a second.  Luckily my sister's car did not get towed.
Then my sister decided to drive and eat her cheesecake.  I was dying laughing at her.

6. The Sun is Back
It has rained for almost two weeks straight here.
(this is Atlanta, isn't it beautiful?)
Georgia has been in a drought for years now, so rain everyday is not something I am used to
It has really put a damper on my pool time plans
It is sunny right now, but according to my Mac it will rain today,
So I'm not taking any chances and walking down to the pool only to get rained on
But the rest of the week is clear skies!

7. Sarah and I Decorated for VBS
After training got out, I headed over to my church.

Sarah, Mrs. Mary, and I decorated all the rooms for VBS

One room is a cave and another room is a forest
They look AWESOME!
I'm so excited for VBS to start on Monday

12 sweet notes:

  1. Those are beautiful flowers!

  2. Wow, those roses are gooooooooooorgeous!!
Red roses are my all-tim fave flower.
And that food looks seriously delish!
Trust me, once you start to cook you won't need reciped books for basic meals.
    I looove to cook :)

  6. jenn the pioneer woman is queen of recipes. her stuff is so bad for you, but it tastes sooo good.

acronyms got me through college! i'm not kidding, i make them up to remember theories or terms. i guess it works because i graduated magna cum laude.

  7. Jayde - I love roses too. And I'm slowly learning to love cooking. haha

Nancy - I convinced James to take me to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on Wednesday. I'm dying waiting! I want the cheesecake so badly! The kids seemed to really like the decorations today, which was awesome.

Shelby - Pioneer Woman makes my tummy happy! haha And I am sending you a virtual cooking for using "delish".

Malia - I know what you mean, I'm cooking going, wow I really shoudln't be doing this to myself, but it's going to be SO good! I usually love acronyms, but there were just so many so fast.

  10. jenn, i had to tell you, i cooked PW's baked lemon pasta last night (after being reminded of her awesome recipes when i read your post). i didn't bake it because i had an inkling it would dry out, but it was so fresh and wonderful. david really liked it.
i also tried the easy apple tart and it was delicious. really simple.

  11. James - I did not post the super creepy picture. You're welcome. Oh, p.s. I love you

Lauren - Georgia is basically....um....AWESOME. I'll find a better picture of ATL and post it up here so you can really know.

Malia - I've been thinking about making the easy apple tart, I may have to make it later this week so I can see for myself how easy it is! (that's what she said) And high five for the non-baked baked lemon pasta!
